About Event Leader, Bob Chauncey, CPP (Ret), CISM
“After a career in law enforcement and private security, I decided to give back to churches with the experience and training I had gained over 40 years, to serve Him, His, and help churches be safer and more secure.”
A Lifetime Dedicated to Safety and Security
Bob Chauncey’s journey in the realm of safety and security began at a young age. As the son of a pastor, he accompanied his father to funerals, where he observed and admired the role of law enforcement officers. This early fascination ignited a lifelong commitment to safeguarding communities.
Bob’s career spanned over four decades, starting with a scholarship as the assistant to the campus Security Officer during his college years. He later became a police officer for approximately 12 years before venturing into private law enforcement with a patrol service. His firm provided services to numerous private and public entities, ranging from banks and businesses to schools and warehouses.
In the mid-70s, Bob’s journey led him to establish CBN’s Security, serving Pat Robinson in Portsmouth. This endeavor expanded with a new headquarters in Virginia Beach and the inception of Regent University. Over time, Bob’s firm evolved to encompass a range of services, including alarms, K-9 units, investigations, and consulting.
Following his retirement and the sale of his businesses, Bob resolved to give back to the community, leveraging the wealth of knowledge he’d amassed over the years. He embarked on a mission to empower churches with the skills and expertise needed to create safer, more secure environments. This journey led him to collaborate with renowned experts, including Chris Grollnek, whose Active Shooter and Threat Prevention Seminar is a vital step towards ensuring that #NEVERHERE becomes a reality.
