Greetings to all our readers. Recent events have led us to reflect on the unfolding violence and its far-reaching impact. Our community stretching across North America and the globe, is grappling with the consequences. As we face the stark reality of the situation, we acknowledge that this is only the beginning of a long and challenging journey. In the midst of threats and uncertainty, we must remember that we are united, standing together in support of Israel and the global Jewish community.
A Path Aligned with Our Values
The path we tread strikes at the heart of fundamental American values—the freedom to practice religion, the freedom to live without fear of violence. This path is a shared one, for it resonates not only with our commitment to Israel but also with our dedication to preserving our cherished American ideals.
Recently, Secure Community Network (SCN), convened a webinar that brought together esteemed experts from the highest echelons of government, including the Director of the FBI and CIA. Both organizations are expressing concerns about the rise of extremism and the potential for domestic terrorism stemming from the attacks against Israel.
Support from the Highest Level
During this impactful webinar, we were privileged to have leaders from these esteemed organizations share their perspectives on how to navigate the complex challenges facing our communities during these turbulent times. Their insights shed light on the collective efforts to protect Jewish Americans and institutions.
Top-ranking officials, including FBI Director Christopher Wray, offered a glimpse into the relentless commitment of the FBI to safeguard Jewish Americans. Director Wray underlined the FBI’s unwavering partnership with law enforcement agencies, its focus on locating affected Americans, and its vigilance in monitoring potential threats on a domestic and international scale. His words reassured us that the FBI is resolutely confronting anti-Semitism and hate crimes.
“We’ve been having this conversation about the rise in anti semitism and hate crimes in the US in recent years and unfortunately, our 2022 Hate Crimes numbers which are coming out next week, continue to reflect that upward trend, because Jewish people continue to face repeated violence and very real threats to your institutions and your houses of worship and to the individuals in your community simply for being who you are. But I want you to know you have my commitment that we are going to continue to confront that threat, both here in the United States and overseas.” FBI Director Christopher Wray
The webinar underscored the power of unity and collaboration among these esteemed experts. It was a testament to the resilience of our community, which has faced adversity before and emerged stronger. While acknowledging the heightened threat environment, we remain resolute in our determination to act with courage rather than be swayed by fear.
