Chris Grollnek on The Joe Piscopo Show discussing the Kentucky State Shooting. This episode covered Active Shooter Prevention for Schools, Businesses & Communities. In today’s episode of The Joe Piscopo Show, Chris Grollnek, nationally recognized active shooter prevention expert and Founder of the Active Shooter Prevention Project (ASPP™), reflects on the recent Kentucky state shooting and what organizations across the country must consider if the goal is to prevent, not just respond to violence.
This conversation is grounded in one central idea: peace is found through preparedness, not from reactive thinking after tragedy strikes. Chris discusses why organizations of every type, including corporate offices, schools, healthcare facilities, houses of worship, government buildings, and nonprofit organizations, are increasingly seeking active shooter training that is practical, non-fear-based, and prevention-focused.
Using the ASPP™ PRO Model™ (Prevention. Response. Options.), the discussion highlights how layered prevention strategies help reduce risk before a weapon is ever used. These strategies include:
- Active shooter and workplace violence prevention training designed for real-world decision-making under stress.
- Access control systems that reduce unauthorized entry and delay threats
- Garrett Metal Detectors for early weapon detection at controlled points of entry
- Scylla AI Weapon Detection to identify potential threats before escalation
- SafeWood Ballistic Protection to harden environments without creating fear
- DataBuoy Gunshot Detection to improve situational awareness and response
- Indoor mapping solutions
- TableTop exercises
- Drone as a first responder tm Brecourt Solutions
These technologies available through Safeware are most effective when paired with well-trained people, clear policies, and prevention-first leadership. For organizations researching active shooter training, workplace violence prevention, school safety solutions, church security planning, or enterprise-wide security assessments, this conversation provides an important perspective: prevention is not one device, one policy, or one class; it is a total solution built around people, process, and technology working together.
