Our Senior Executive Special Advisors bring decades of leadership and experience to bear, contributing to the mission of ASPP.

They are united in their passion and dedication to supporting ASPP in bringing a new national standard of prevention to fruition. These executive advisors hail from the highest levels of government and private industry but are notably not part of the security solution industry, ensuring that their influence and advocacy are entirely holistic in nature.

Dan Zilinski

Senior Director, Audit and Risk Advisory Services

Dan Zilinski is an accomplished professional currently leading the information security audit program for a major professional sports league.

A key area of expertise for Dan lies in stadium cybersecurity, where he has successfully developed a comprehensive audit program, including the instantiation of best practices resource material to leverage for cybersecurity controls improvement and assessment.

Dan’s collaboration with the Department of Homeland Security has resulted in the implementation of the first-of-its-kind sports/entertainment venue assessment program for major sports leagues.

Gary Connor

Brigadier General, United States Air Force (Retired)
Aerospace and Defense Consultant

Brigadier General Gary Connor, USAF (Retired), has over 30 years of senior executive management experience leading multi-billion dollar enterprises and thousands of people to develop and field fighter, missile defense, command & control, and intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance systems for the US, NATO and Allies, serving as a warfighting CIO (J6) with Multi-National Force – Iraq.

General Connor is a seasoned leader and experienced manager with superior communication, organizational, execution, international relations and people skills. He specializes in “systems thinking” and strategies for complex systems.

Louis Barani

Louis Barani is a security risk management professional with over 30 years of private sector experience in director level positions. He currently provides expert guidance to safeguard against potential risks of active shooter/violent ideation, terrorism and security threats.

Lou’s expertise is focused on the integration of Artificial Intelligence into security assessments and active shooter intervention strategies, in order to provide a proactive and data driven approach that supports early intervention.

Lou retired from a 21-year career in the U.S. Navy and has served as an Adjunct Professor and Senior Fellow at the Homeland Security Management Institute.
