Chris Grollnek

Chris Grollnek is one of the nation’s most sought professionals in the Active Shooter Prevention field. With over 33 years in the study and application of protective measures, Chris brings experience from his time in the Marine Corps, Law Enforcement, and Private/Government contracting providing strategic advisory services for the most senior executives in the country.

Following his involvement as a responder in the Active Shooter Event in McKinney, Texas, in 2010, Chris modified his post-graduate degree program trajectory and wrote his capstone project on the phenomenon of active shooter events. In addition, Chris wrote and appeared in a documentary detailing an active shooter incident and survival guidance from the perspective of a person within an event.

As one of the only professionals in the nation with personal involvement in a domestic terrorism/active shooter event and a Master’s Degree in that discipline, the experience Chris brings to his public speaking tour is literally; “one of a kind.” While experts across the country focus on responding to active shooters and preventing additional loss of life after an incident begins, Chris brings first-hand knowledge of how to prevent an incident before it occurs.

Using a multi-faceted approach in his seminars, location assessments, and training programs that offer comprehensive solutions from a broad spectrum of partners. He founded the Active Shooter Prevention Project, LLC, where the emphasis is on a “human” model vs. a “business” model. This group of like-minded professionals provides a community of expert support, creating the transformative initiative, “Prevention, Response, Options” (P.R.O.).

Chris Grollnek is internationally recognized as one of the leading experts and authorities on the phenomenon of domestic terrorism prevention. He has appeared on numerous national television networks, including CNN, FOX, NBC, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, BBC, CTNN, RT, documentaries, and syndicated radio broadcast programs.

Notably, one of Chris’ most recent significant achievements is his nearly two-year expert consulting and witness services for the attorney groups representing the families of several slain Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School (Parkland) students. Chris donated most of his time to this cause to bring the case and services to the most lucrative settlements for the families.

Chris Grollnek is a Board member of First Preventers. He is also an active member of the National Tactical Officers Association, the Texas Tactical Police Officers Association, the Texas Municipal Police Association, The American Legion, and the United States Marine Corps Drill Instructors Association, Parris Island chapter. Chris has served as the President of the McKinney Police Association, Vice President of the International Association of Undercover Officers, and a former North Texas Violent Gang Task Force Board member.

Chris also serves on the Advisory Council for ZeroNow, a non-profit founded with the goal of ending school violence.
