Meet Daryl Parker, a remarkable individual with an impressive background in the military, law enforcement, and private investigations. Daryl’s professional journey began in the U.S. Marine Corps, where he served for 20 years, rising to the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 3. During his service, Daryl received several personal commendations, including two combat action awards, which highlight his commitment and dedication to his country.
Following his military career, Daryl entered law enforcement in Texas, where he served in various capacities, including Patrol and as a Lieutenant in charge of criminal investigations. During this time, he became a certified law enforcement instructor and the lead instructor at a regional police academy. These experiences helped him develop a unique perspective on law enforcement, which he continues to utilize in his current work.
After leaving law enforcement, Daryl decided to pursue higher education, earning a BA in Public Administration and an MLS in Human Rights and Social Justice at Southern Methodist University. He continued his passion for investigation by volunteering with the Innocence Project as a private investigator, working on complex post-conviction and cold cases. This experience further enhanced his investigative skills and provided him with a deeper understanding of social justice issues.
Today, Daryl is the President of Blackfish Intelligence, one of the largest private investigations firms in the country. He is a board-certified criminal defense investigator, and his work has been featured in various media outlets, such as 48 Hours, The Atlantic magazine, and several podcasts and news articles.
Daryl’s expertise is not just limited to investigations; he is also a nationally recognized firearms expert. He has competed in both rifle and pistol marksmanship and has instructed military, police, and civilian firearms courses. He has appeared on several firearms-related television shows and has testified as an expert witness in criminal trials regarding firearms safety, training, and operation.
