It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we write this memorial to honor the victims of the tragic school shooting that occurred today in Nashville, Texas. As members of the Active Shooter Prevention Project team, we were gathered in Las Vegas, Nevada, preparing to discuss new strategies to support the prevention of active shooters when we learned of this senseless act of violence.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the families, friends, and loved ones of those who lost their lives in this horrific event. We extend our deepest condolences to the entire Nashville community, as well as to the faculty, staff, and students of the affected school.

No words can express the pain and grief we feel at the loss of innocent lives. It is a tragedy that no one should ever have to endure, and yet it has become all too common in our society. We must do more to address the root causes of such violence and take concrete steps to prevent it from happening again.

As we mourn the loss of these precious lives, we also honor the courage and bravery of those who risked their own safety to protect others. We are grateful for their selfless dedication and unwavering commitment to keeping our communities safe.

In the face of such tragedy, we must come together as a nation and work tirelessly to prevent future acts of violence. We cannot let fear and hatred divide us. Instead, we must unite in our common humanity and strive to create a safer, more peaceful nation for all.

Rest in peace to those lost in Nashville, and may their memories be a blessing to all who knew them.
